Three refrigerated, sealed drawers per unit are each integrated in a radiator cor with a 6 cm insulating layer. The refrigeration is raised by a 12 V compressor, which is built in on the backside of the container. Because of the thick insulating layer and forced ventilation in the compressor room, optimal refrigeration can be reached. The energy consuption is very low and can amount to 10 - 35 W/h depending on the outdoor temperature. For the energy supply, the use of a separated 75Ah car battery is recommended. The battery can be charged with a mains adapter at home.

The nominal temperature inside the refrigerated car container is infinitely variable. A separate display on the top of the container allows controlling the actual temperature inside the drawers and inside the car. Moreover, the digital display has an additional alarm and time mode.

After several years' development, the Refrigerated Car Container was tested, together with veterinarians, under extreme conditions in practice. Fortunately, the indulab Refrigerated Car Container passed all of the tests relating o function and safety with the note "excellent".
